Derek Gray, the founder of Bay West Enterprises, began his construction career very early and by the age of 19 was a Journeyman Cabinetmaker. With a passion for quality craftsmanship and a penchant for new technology, Derek began to develop a vision of a company that focused its efforts on old world craftsmanship combined with new construction technologies. Maintaining an eye for detail and focusing on efficient, modern construction practices, Bay West has for years been building a clientele almost exclusively from strong client referrals. Bay West’s experience is as diverse as the taste and preferences of its Bay Area clients. Projects ranging from historical renovations of Victorian style homes to California bungalows with contemporary interior finishes demonstrate diversity and our commitment to quality and innovation. Whether it is introducing a new steel-frame building technique to a 100-year-old home or restoring an authentic Eichler design, Bay West continues to bring that same passion to quality projects today as it did when Derek started the company in 1992.
